Check Point Software Names Alex Vieux to Board of Directors

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., – September 23, 1998 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKPF) today announced that Alex Serge Vieux has been appointed to its board of directors. Mr. Vieux, 41, is Chairman of DASAR, Inc., which he founded in 1989 after building two successful software companies. As part of DASAR, Mr. Vieux manages the highly regarded European (ETRE), Mediterranean (METRE) and Asian (ATRE) Technology Exhibition Roundtable Conferences for CEOs and the forum of Information Technology, the leading IT trade show in France.

Vieux is also a member of the board of Tandem Computers, Lernout & Hauspie Speech Technologies, CIBOX, and several start-up companies. Mr. Vieux graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and the French business school HEC. He also holds a law degree from the Universit de Paris and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.

Vieux's strong international and software industry background will be an asset for Check Point as the company continues its rapid growth.
