CHECK POINT SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY'S FIRST INTEGRATED TRAFFIC CONTROL AND VPN SOFTWARE SOLUTION

Check Point FloodGate-1 and VPN-1 enable optimal delivery of business-critical applications to enterprise and managed service customers

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - January 26, 1999 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the worldwide leader in secure enterprise networking, today announced the latest upgrade of its traffic control solution, Check Point™ FloodGate-1™ version 1.5. This Quality-of-Service (QoS) solution now tightly integrates with Check Point VPN-1 Gateway ™ and FireWall-1 version 4.0 enterprise security suites to deliver optimal performance and scalability, ensuring secure, prioritized delivery of information based on critical business need.

In addition, FloodGate-1 now supports up to 100,000 concurrent connections, providing a scalable bandwidth management solution to meet the demanding needs of the largest of enterprise and managed service provider (MSP) customers.

The flexibility of FloodGate-1 allows the delivery of total bandwidth management either integrated with the enterprise security solution or as a standalone product. FloodGate-1 controls the bandwidth usage of entire classes of traffic, not just individual connections, and enables the allocation of valuable bandwidth resources among multiple classes of traffic, such as critical applications or important groups of users.

Through its traffic control mechanisms - weights, limits and guarantees - FloodGate-1 intelligently manages traffic via weighted fair queuing through its Intelligent Queuing™ (IQ) engine.
