CHECK POINT SOFTWARE AND IBM FURTHER SECURITY SOLUTIONS FOR SERVICE PROVIDER MARKET WITH NEW UNIX SERVER

Market-leading Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 now available on new IBM UNIX thin server

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- September 13, 1999 -- Check Point Software Technologies (Nasdaq: CHKP), announced today that it is expanding its relationship with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to include support for the IBM RS/6000 B50 server, which IBM announced today. The IBM RS/6000 B50 server provides a manageable and scalable platform for Check Point Software's Internet security solutions.

Check Point Internet security solutions on the B50 solve the secure communications needs of the enterprise as well as the mission-critical constraints on floor space, cooling and power requirements faced by service providers. Its small 3.5 inch footprint maximizes floor space and allows ISPs to pack up to 20 servers in a standard rack enclosure.

In addition to supporting the full range of IBM RS/6000 products, Check Point Software and IBM are working together through the Check Point Software OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) Alliance. Through the OPSEC Alliance, IBM SecureWay Directory server has been tested and OPSEC Certified to work with the Check Point VPN-1 and FireWall-1 enterprise security solutions. IBM's SecureWay Directory Server and Check Point Software's security solutions work together to provide centralized management of user account information.
