CHECK POINT AND ISS PROTECT WORLD'S LARGEST SHORT-TERM NETWORK
|
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. AND ATLANTA, Ga. September 20, 1999 Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP) and Internet Security Systems (ISS) (Nasdaq: ISSX), official network security co-sponsors of the InteropNet Event Network, provided industry-leading security technology and expertise to protect the InteropNet Event Network. Featured at NetWorld+Interop, September 14-16 at Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center, the InteropNet Event Network is the world's largest short-term network. The network provided connectivity to more than 600 NetWorld+Interop exhibitors, conference rooms and meeting rooms. This is the second time this year that ISS and Check Point Software have been chosen to co-sponsor the InteropNet Event Network. ISS and Check Point Software provided the security for the InteropNet Event Network at the May 1999 Networld + Interop held in Las Vegas. Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1was deployed to secure the InteropNet event network. The InteropNet was actively monitored and protected with the use of ISS' market-leading SAFEsuite family of security management solutions. Utilizing ISS SAFESuite and Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1, network operators were able to successfully detect and respond to security vulnerabilities and threats, thwarting attacks before damage could be done. Check Point Software and ISS security experts provided onsite expertise at the InteropNet Network Operating Center actively managing the show's network security and facilitating exhibitor requests related to security. "We are pleased to be chosen again as the official network security co-sponsor of the InteropNet Event Network," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of marketing and business development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Together with ISS, we deployed the industry's best-of-breed security products and services at InteropNet." Tim McCormick, vice president of corporate marketing for ISS added, "Our joint security sponsorship of InteropNet and successful information and system protection was a real-world example of best-of-breed security management technology at work. Through our solutions' openness and compatibility, we were able to easily deploy and leverage Check Point and ISS' leading technology for the ongoing protection and security management of this dynamic network."
