CHECK POINT SOFTWARE UNVEILS NEW PRODUCT FOR POP-BASED MANAGED SECURITY
SERVICES SOLUTIONS

New MultiGate Enables Service Providers to Deploy High Density Managed Security

GENEVA, Switzerland, Telecom99 – October 11, 1999 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today introduced MultiGate, a new product that enables managed service providers (MSPs) to provide high density, aggregated point-of-presence (POP)-based Internet security services. MultiGate enables service providers to deploy multiple VPN-1 or FireWall-1 enforcement points on single servers at POP locations, drastically lowering the costs of outsourced VPN and network security, including hardware, space and maintenance costs.

"With MultiGate, service providers can now deploy Check Point's market-leading security solutions in highly optimized POP configurations," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of marketing and business development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Check Point now enables service providers to extend their managed security offerings beyond large enterprises to small and medium businesses that are connecting to the Internet."

MultiGate enables service providers to deploy multiple module implementations of Check Point Software's customer premises equipment (CPE)-based Internet security solutions. Telecommunication companies and MSPs can use Check Point's Provider-1 to manage MultiGate and other Check Point solutions (see separate release on new version of Provider-1). With the introduction of MultiGate, Check Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture now provides service providers with a single solution that enables deployment across both POP and CPE locations.
