CHECK POINT SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES SECURE VIRTUAL NETWORK (SVN) ARCHITECTURE

First to Advance VPNs to Secure Complete Internet Environments

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., – August 30, 1999 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP) today announced a significant industry advance in VPN solutions with its Secure Virtual Network™ (SVN) architecture that incorporates all of the critical elements for a secure Internet environment. Unlike currently available VPNs, the SVN approach provides secure and seamless Internet connectivity between networks, systems, applications and users across the Internet, intranets and extranets.

In a major step towards delivering its SVN, Check Point Software made three separate announcements regarding significant new products and components:

  • New VPN-1 product family (a major new product release) – Integrated architecture including bandwidth management (QoS), PKI interoperability and a VPN high availability solution.
  • True client/server Internet security (new products) – Extends full security features down to the desktop/mobile client/server user. Delivers personal firewall/VPN client capabilities.
  • Reporting System (new product) -- delivers integrated security audit, trend and accounting capabilities.
