Third annual awards program recognizes innovative customer
and partner Internet security implementations
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., – October
4, 2000 – Check Point Software Technologies
Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the
Internet, announced the winners of its third annual Check
Point Excellence Awards at Networld+Interop held in Atlanta.
The program recognized both customers and channel partners
for successfully implementing the industry's most innovative
Internet security solutions. Check Point has over 50,000 customers
and 150,000 installations worldwide. This year's Check Point
Excellence Award winners represent industry-leading companies
in the consulting, entertainment, service provider, telecommunications
and technology markets.
The recipients of the 2000 Check Point Excellence Award winners
include:
- Security Customer of the Year – Equity Residential
Properties
Equity Residential Properties is the world's largest
owner and manager of residential properties. Headquartered
in Chicago, Illinois, Equity has implemented a worldwide
virtual private network (VPN) to connect more than 1000
of its offices. Using Check Point's VPN-1 product family,
including VPN-1 SecureClient for providing desktop firewall
protection for remote users, Equity successfully transitioned
its communications infrastructure from a private wide area
network to the Internet-based system. Check Point VPN-1
enabled dramatic savings in communication costs without
sacrificing performance or security.
- Strategic and Visionary Use of VPNs – Vicinity
Corporation
Vicinity Corporation, headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif.,
is a leading provider of Internet based-marketing infrastructure
services for Global 2000 companies. Vicinity uses Check
Point VPN-1 Appliances, along with Check Point's centralized
policy-based management in a mission-critical Internet-based
VPN connecting all of their data centers. Check Point VPN-1
provided the foundation for Vicinity's highly available
eBusiness infrastructure.
- Outstanding OPSEC Architecture Implementation –
Regal Cinemas
Regal Cinemas is one of the fastest growing and largest
cinema chains in the world. Headquartered in Knoxville,
Tennessee, Regal has built a comprehensive security infrastructure
using Check Point's Secure Virtual Network architecture,
along with several OPSEC partner solutions to protect and
connect its 450 locations. Using Check Point's OPSEC framework,
Regal implemented VPN high availability, gateway-based virus
scanning and URL filtering for a fully integrated security
deployment.
- Managed Security Services - Cable & Wireless and
Lockheed Martin
This award is shared by Cable and Wireless, a global
telecommunications group that operates in over 70 countries,
and Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications, the world's
leading systems integrator in aerospace, defense and technology
services. Both companies demonstrated excellence and innovation
in delivering comprehensive managed security and VPN services
based on Check Point's Secure Virtual Network Architecture.
As part of the program, four Check Point channel partners
were honored for their outstanding work with some of the
winners of the Excellence Awards.
- Gobosh
Gobosh is a premiere, Oregon-based Internet consulting
group that helped implement the VPN initiative at Vicinity
Corporation. Gobosh engineers and business consultants plan,
architect and deploy technology infrastructures that support
the business objectives of its clients, which include startups,
existing dot.coms and leading brand companies.
- NetVision, Inc.
NetVision, Inc., Check Point partner focused on security
and high-end communications located in Tennessee. They were
instrumental in helping Regal Cinemas through their six-month
security implementation. With intensive research and instruction
from multiple security vendors they developed a strong OPSEC-based
solution for Regal Cinemas.
- ISS eServices
ISS eServices is a Check Point premier partner and
OPSEC partner. ISS eServices, based in Palo Alto, Calif.,
delivers security services to meet demanding customer requirements
using Check Point's SVN architecture along with OPSEC partner
solutions.
- Telenisus
Telenisus is a Check Point Premier partner and a Check
Point Certified Managed Service Provider (CCMSP) specializing
in Internet infrastructure services, including VPNs and
managed web hosting. Telenisus was instrumental in the large-scale
VPN solution deployed by Equity Residential. Telenisus ensures
security and reliability via its Built for e-business™
infrastructure, from which it develops, integrates, monitors
and manages its customers' entire e-business services.
