Hitachi Information Network Selects Check Point Software Technologies for New Security Service Center

RAMAT GAN, ISRAEL – October 4, 2000 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that leading Japanese managed service provider, Hitachi Information Network (HINET), will incorporate Check Point's Provider-1™ and VPN-1/FireWall-1 product family into its new "SHIELD" Security Service Center.

One of Japan's earliest Internet security outsourcing services, HINET's SHIELD Center, will now be able to offer its customers industry-leading managed security services, including integrated VPN and enterprise security solutions, based on Check Point Software's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture.

HINET has also joined Check Point's Certified Managed Service Providers (CCMSP) Program. The CCMSP Program is the marketing and sales cornerstone of Check Point Software's commitment to delivering carrier-class, flexible, manageable and cost effective solutions to the MSP market.

"In Japan, many businesses, including large enterprises, ASPs and data centers, are looking to outsource their network security infrastructure. By implementing Check Point's SVN architecture via Provider-1, our new SHIELD center will become a security hub for those businesses," said Mr. Tohru Kurosaki, Chief Engineer of Systems Integration Division at Hitachi Information Networks.
