Infonetics Research Shows VPN-1 Appliance Continues to Increase Market Share to a Dominant 56 Percent

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 7, 2000 – Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that the Check Point/Nokia VPN-1 Appliance has been named the worldwide market leader in the 1999 Virtual Private Network (VPN) dedicated appliance market. According to independent market data from Infonetics Research, Inc., a leading analyst firm in San Jose, California, the Check Point/Nokia VPN-1 Appliance increased market share in the fourth quarter of 1999, to a dominant 56 percent in high-end VPN appliances — over four times higher than the next closest competitor. In addition, the Infonetics data shows that Check Point has consistently increased its market share and breakaway leadership quarter over quarter throughout 1999.

"Check Point has proven itself as the market leader in the dedicated VPN appliance market quarter over quarter, and the fourth quarter in 1999 was no exception," said Jeff Wilson, director of access programs, Infonetics Research, Inc. "This track record gives Check Point a strong lead as the VPN market continues its phenomenal growth in the new century."

"We are pleased to be recognized as the 1999 worldwide VPN market leader by Infonetics," said Asheem Chandna, vice president, business development and product management, Check Point Software Technologies.
