Check Point Software and Intrusion.com Partner to Secure Small and Medium Businesses

Companies will produce new class of security appliances that will enable unprecedented price/performance for SMBs

Redwood City, Calif. and Richardson, Texas -- August 22, 2000 – Check Point Software, Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, and Intrusion.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: INTZ), a leading provider of enterprise security solutions for the information-driven economy, today announced a partnership to jointly develop and deliver a new class of low-cost security appliances targeted at the small and medium business (SMB) market. The appliances will extend Check Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture to small and medium businesses using Intrusion.com platforms. Designed for maximum flexibility and ease-of-use, these high-performance, low-cost appliances will enable secure eBusiness connections for small and medium businesses and enterprise small remote offices. The products can be deployed by customers or by managed service providers.

The first product to result from this partnership will be a low-cost security appliance small enough to sit on a desktop corner. The security appliance will come pre-installed with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 security software to offer customers a flexible, integrated security solution. The product will work with Check Point's market-leading security management solutions, allowing it to be managed centrally within an enterprise, as a managed service through telcos/service providers, and/or locally by small and medium offices. Product availability is targeted for early 4Q00. With pricing starting at under $2,000 USD, the new appliance will enable small and medium businesses and small remote offices to implement world-class Internet security previously available only to large enterprises.
