On February 9, 2000, RealNames was victim of a cyber attack that may have compromised its customer service database. Although the company has been utilizing some Check Point solutions, the recent intrusion resulted from a break through an external Web server that, while protected, was not specifically secured by Check Point's FireWall-1.
