Check Point Software Wins RSA Security "Industry Award"

Company Recognized for Significant, Ongoing Contributions to Security Discipline

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Jan. 18, 2000 Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it has been selected as the winner of the 2000 RSA Award in Industry, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of Internet security. The RSA Award in Industry goes to an individual or organization who has most facilitated the widespread use or application of advanced cryptographic technologies in the marketplace. Check Point uses cryptography to support more than 20 million remote VPN clients accessing over 30,000 networks through its Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture.

Instituted in 1998, RSA's annual award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant, ongoing contributions to security issues and cryptography in the areas of mathematics, public policy and industry.
