ClusterXL Enables 1.2 Gbps VPN Throughput REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 28, 2001 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today introduced ClusterXLT, performance clustering technology providing high availability and load sharing solutions for continuous VPN/security performance and uninterrupted access to network resources. ClusterXL enables remote access and site-to-site VPN connections to be distributed across multiple Check Point VPN-1/ FireWall-1 Gateways, achieving record-breaking VPN speeds of 1.2 Gbps. A network's performance, reliability and scalability are enhanced when network traffic is efficiently distributed across multiple gateways deployed in a cluster. "As VPN deployments become larger and more mission critical, performance and availability of network resources are a key concern," said Carol Stone, vice president of worldwide marketing for Check Point Software Technologies. "Check Point is committed to delivering new solutions for increased VPN/firewall performance and resiliency. The new ClusterXL addresses the growing needs of network administrators for scalability, performance and high-availability of mission-critical Internet gateways." As additional performance is needed, ClusterXL scales to support multiple VPN-1/FireWall-1 gateways. By scaling up the size of the cluster, customers can now enhance the performance of their VPN/firewall solutions on the fly, without any interruptions to service. Available in December 2001, ClusterXL is the latest complement to Check Point's SecureXL Performance Framework. Check Point SecureXL is a framework of interfaces, software modules and industry standards that enable Check Point partners and customers to build solutions to meet the most demanding performance requirements -- up to multi-gigabit levels -- at a variety of price points. In addition, Check Point provides security on single appliances or servers, with solutions currently delivering over 3 Gbps. Check Point Next Generation performance technology and ClusterXL further demonstrate Check Point's commitment to delivering new solutions for increased VPN/firewall performance and resiliency and further its advances in performance and price-performance solutions.
