Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 Achieves Internationally Recognized ITSEC Security Certification

First IPSec VPN Awarded E3 Level Certification REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. -- March 13, 2001 - Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 has passed vigorous testing to become the first IPSec VPN awarded ITSEC E3 certification by the Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG). ITSEC E3 (IT Security Evaluation Criteria) is an internationally recognized standard and this certification provides an assurance of quality for technology-based security products. The ITSEC E3 level is the standard widely demanded in government and commercial sectors for systems handling the transmission of confidential data. The certificate was awarded to Check Point Software for their integrated VPN-1/FireWall-1 version 4.1 SP2, and gives an objective judgment of security soundness against internationally recognized criteria.
