(NASDAQ:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it has set a new performance record with its Next Generation product family running on the Alteon* Switched Firewall System (ASF) security appliance recently introduced by Nortel Networks (NYSE/TSE: NT)*.
This new product featuring Check Point's market-leading software running on the Alteon Switched Firewall system delivers 3.2 gigabits per second of security performance and extends the choice of "Secured by Check Point" appliances. Check Point and Nortel Networks have worked together to integrate the software and hardware to create one of the industry's fastest and highest-performing firewall appliances specifically designed to take advantage of new performance features built into Check Point's Next Generation SecureXL performance architecture.
