Check Point Software Advances Large Scale Internet Security Management with Provider-1 Next Generation
Innovative Total Availability Management is Industry First
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 10, 2001 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced Check Point Provider-1T Next Generation, the revolutionary new version of the company's Internet security management solution for service providers and large enterprise networks.
Provider-1 Next Generation takes Internet security management to new levels with the ability to implement Total Availability Management (TAM). An industry first, TAM enables the creation of an ultra-resilient management infrastructure that can be distributed across a global service provider network or large corporate network, ensuring continuous access to security policy information and management resources. Through TAM, globally distributed Provider-1 management servers automatically synchronize customer and administrator data. Each regionally managed server functions as a backup to the others, so no individual hardware, software or network element represents a single point of failure.
This ultra-redundant, highly flexible management architecture enables the highest levels of reliability and eliminates the need for the service provider or large enterprise to deploy additional hardware or software. With this infrastructure, customer information can be accessed and managed anytime, from anywhere in the world. - resulting in improved customer service, tighter security and lower costs.
"Managed service providers are continually challenged to deliver maximum reliability and security while at the same time keeping their costs under control," said Carol Stone, vice president of worldwide marketing, Check Point Software Technologies. "Provider-1 Next Generation reflects our continued commitment to meeting those challenges through leadership and innovation in the area of Internet security management."
In addition to Provider-1 Next Generation's ground-breaking TAM capability, Provider-1 Next Generation includes several new features that further simplify complex administrative tasks and improve management efficiency.
- Administrator Auditing -- tightens security by providing information that can track policy changes by administrators.
- Dynamic Global Objects -- allows administrators to create global rules using generic global objects that dynamically adapt to specific customer environments. Dynamic Global Objects improve management efficiency by eliminating the need to create and maintain unique rules for each customer.
- Advanced Log File Management -- improves system reliability and management efficiency with new redundant log file capability and automatic archiving.
- SecureUpdate -- ensures tight security and reduces administrative effort through automatic remote software and license update capability.
Provider-1 Next Generation is a key security management component of Check Point Next Generation, Check Point's new Internet security product suite. Deployed by an Internet service provider or large enterprise, Provider-1 Next Generation provides customers with a scalable, secure and dependable Internet security management platform. Check Point Provider-1 Next Generation is available now.
