Check Point Software Honors Leading Companies with Excellence Awards

Fifth annual awards program recognizes innovative customer and partner Internet security implementations

DUBLIN, IRELAND, Check Point Experience - May 23, 2002 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced the winners of its fifth annual Check Point Excellence Awards at the Check Point Experience conference currently being held in Dublin, Ireland. The Check Point Experience provides customers and partners with valuable technology and market information via presentations, technical and business-focused tracks and product demonstrations from Check Point and its partners.

The Check Point Excellence Awards recognize customers and channel partners for successfully and innovatively implementing Internet security solutions. This year's winners represent industry-leading companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa who are leveraging Check Point and its OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) partner solutions to solve business problems, such as securing remote offices and employees and managing critical bandwidth.

The recipients of the 2002 Check Point Excellence Awards include:

  • Vodafone, for Cutting Edge Security Practices
    Vodafone, a large global mobile telecommunications network company, upgraded its security infrastructure to meet growing business demands, improve its web presence and interoperate with business partners using Check Point's VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation™ running on Nokia appliances, VPN-1 SecureClient™ and Provider-1™ technologies. Vodafone is also in the process of implementing Check Point's FireWall-1 GX to protect its GPRS network. New Zealand reseller InterConnect assisted in these implementations.

  • Domino Printing Sciences, for Scalable, Flexible, VPNs
    omino Printing Sciences, the leader in the manufacturing of laser printing and coding solutions, replaced their legacy infrastructure with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation. In addition to reducing costs, this solution provided necessary scalability, flexibility and performance. Domino outsourced the solution to Ultima Business, located in the United Kingdom, enabling them to focus internal IT resources on development.

  • Metro MGI, for Outstanding Provider-1 Implementation
    Metro MGI, an internal IT-service located in Germany and abroad provide IT-services for the various branches of its parent company, Metro AG. Metro MGI implemented Check Point's Provider-1 to mange the companies global security infrastructure from a central location.

  • Comverse, for Outstanding OPSEC Architecture Implementation
    Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc., is based in Israel. It is a leading supplier of software and systems that enable network-based multimedia enhanced communications services. Comverse enhanced its Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 solution with the addition of OPSEC products from Oracle, Trend Micro, Vasco and Rainfinity. The solution ensures optimal network performance and offers its thousands of remote users easy log-in and secure access to critical data and systems.

  • Regus, for Outstanding FloodGate-1 Implementation
    Regus, a London-based multi-national organization and leading worldwide operator of business centers, implemented a Check Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) consisting of VPN-1 to provide connectivity in more than 40 countries worldwide using FloodGate-1 modules to manage bandwidth. This installation was completed with the help of reseller Centrinet.
