Report Confirms Check Point Leadership with 65% Market Share
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 6, 2002 - Check Point Software
Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing
the Internet, today announced it has once again been recognized
as the clear firewall/VPN market leader. According to IDC's
latest report, "Worldwide Firewall Software Forecast and Analysis,
2002-2006: Vendor Views", Check Point widened its lead in the
enterprise firewall/VPN software market from 61% in 2000 to
65% last year.
"Firewalls
continue to be a central component of any network security infrastructure,
and will remain so into the foreseeable future," said Charles
