AirWave Achieves OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software

AirWave Management Platform™ Integrates with Industry's Most Recognized Security Framework

SAN MATEO, Calif. - July 29, 2002 - AirWave Wireless, Inc., a leading provider of wireless network management software, announced today that it has achieved OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) certification for the AirWave Management Platform™, from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through OPSEC certification, the AirWave Management Platform (AMP) seamlessly integrates with Check Point's Internet security platform, providing customers with a comprehensive solution for managing and securing their Wireless LANs.

The AirWave Management Platform offers network administrators a single, centralized console from which they can monitor and configure all wireless network devices. By accessing authentication data from the Check Point VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation software, AMP provides complete visibility to all connected users and devices. With this information, AirWave provides customers with detailed information about all authenticated users of their WLANs and alerts the IT organization when potential rogue users or rogue access points are detected. By using AMP in conjunction with their Check Point solution, customers reduce support costs, improve network performance and provide comprehensive security.

"Large enterprises deploying Wireless LANs demand that these networks be as manageable and secure as their wired networks," said AirWave president Greg Murphy. "Thousands of these companies have already come to depend on Check Point for Internet security. Through OPSEC certification, AirWave enables these customers to leverage their existing Check Point solutions to secure their wireless networks while providing comprehensive network management."

"Effective wireless network management requires identifying a wireless device with the corresponding end user's name," said Upesh Patel, manager of the OPSEC Alliance for Check Point Software Technologies. "Through OPSEC integration with Check Point NG, the AirWave Management Platform provides customers with the ability to determine which end user's wireless device is accessing the network to ensure a comprehensive, centrally-managed solution for securing Wireless LANs."
