Check Point Expands Revolutionary Security Management Architecture

Delivers New Features and the Industry's Lowest Total Cost of Ownership


REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 14, 2002 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced it has expanded its revolutionary Security Management Architecture (SMART™) with new enhancements to further simplify the management of security environments and deliver the lowest total cost of ownership for network security deployments. These new capabilities enable efficient, simple security management and build upon SmartCenter and SmartCenter Pro, the most comprehensive security management solutions in the industry.

New Check Point SMART Security Management enhancements include:

  • Sophisticated Policy Revision Control including policy rollback for efficient, secure policy development and advanced auditing capabilities
  • Live Updates of software and licenses through integration with SmartUpdate and Check Point's User Center web site for streamlined security software updates
  • "One-Click" Software Upgrades of all security modules in the network for easy upgrades with reduced management time and complexity

These enhancements compliment Check Point's existing SMART management suite. The suite allows security managers to easily and quickly deploy, update and manage Internet security infrastructures, while dramatically reducing total cost of ownership through the following solutions:

  • SmartUpdate - delivers live software and license updates to hundreds of distributed security gateways from a central management console
  • SmartMap - provides a revolutionary policy visualization tool, which graphically displays an organization's security landscape
  • SmartDashboard - enables security administrators to manage their entire network security deployment from an intuitive graphical interface
  • SmartView Family - offers the latest and most comprehensive monitoring, analysis and reporting applications to empower security administrators with critical decision-making information
