"Secured by Check Point" Solutions Lead Worldwide Firewall/VPN Appliance Market

Analyst Report Shows Combined Market Participation of 36%

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Nov. 21, 2002 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced results from market analysis firm IDC showing that when all "Secured by Check Point" firewall/VPN appliances are combined with Check PointT software, they would hold the leading position in the worldwide firewall/VPN appliance market. In the IDC study "Security Appliances Market Forecast and Analysis 2002-2006", November 2002, the combined percentages from firewall/VPN appliances utilizing Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 totaled 36% -- exceeding any single vendor's revenue. IDC notes that, "Security appliances have become popular by being a simple means of delivering security software."

"Check Point is the dominant enterprise firewall/VPN software vendor and a driving force behind the growth of firewall/VPN security appliances," said Charles Kolodgy, research manager for IDC's security program. "Overall, IDC believes that when Check Point's influence on the firewall/VPN appliance market is taken into account, the total participation of 'Secured by Check Point' appliance partners amounts to 36% of the market."
