Market Share Calculation
The IDC report sizes the firewall/VPN appliance market in 2001. Included in the report is an analysis that illustrates how various Check Point appliance partners would be positioned when combined with Check Point software revenue. Due to the fact that Check Point recognizes software sales separately from appliance partners, the value of the Check Point software license is not included in the revenue for appliance vendors who sell Check Point-based appliances. Revenue for other vendors in this market includes both hardware and software.
