Check Point Uniquely Delivers
SMART Management Architecture; A Multi-Product Solution Clicks With
Click! Network
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., - July 28, 2003
- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP) the
worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that
Click! Network, a broadband cable television and high-speed Internet
services provider in Tacoma, Washington, selected Check Point's
market-leading Internet security solutions to secure and manage
multiple private networks.
As an extension of Tacoma Power's electricity system, Click! Network
delivers cable television, high-speed data transport, and high-speed
Internet services to nearly 800 miles of robust fiber optic and
coaxial cables throughout the Tacoma area. Click! Network was the
first provider in the U.S. to offer high-speed Internet over cable
modem services via multiple ISPs, all using the same shared broadband
network.
Click! Network was challenged with having to manage a private network,
a link to private networks and data, and a public network. Each
network must then be protected from another as well as from the
hordes of attacks coming through the Internet. Additionally, Click!
Network needed to protect the records of its cable TV customers,
broadband customers, and Internet over cable modem customers. The
company's Internet security needs were met with a comprehensive
suite of security and management solutions from Check Point. Click!
Network deployed Check Point's market-leading solutions to ensure
customer privacy, maintain network reliability and quickly install
robust security.
"Check Point was the only vendor that could deliver the features
we needed in a single package, with the added benefit of training
and services," said Steve Roberts, senior telecommunications
engineer for Click! Network. "In choosing our Internet security
solution, I can honestly say, we could not find a competing security
solution that could match Check Point's robust functionality."
To provide isolated protection for private networks, ensure network
reliability and provide customers with world-class security, Tacoma's
Click! Network deployed a full suite of Check Point solutions including:
- SecurePlatform - enables
a quick and easy deployment, with a 10-minute installation of
world-class security on a standards-based off-the-shelf server
- VPN-1®/FireWall-1® - protects
the privacy of business communications over the Internet while
securing critical network resources against unauthorized access
- VPN-1® SecureClient -
provides secure remote access with personal firewall protection
to allow tele-workers to securely connect to corporate resources
- ClusterXL - offers
failover transparency by distributing traffic between redundant
gateways to enable an increase in performance
- SMART (security management
architecture) - allows visual management of network security through
a simple, intuitive console
Click! Network appreciates the high level of product integration
and ease of management of the Check Point solutions. "When
we launched the Check Point Internet security solution, we found
SecurePlatform easy to install and the SMART management suite easy-to-use
and well designed for very specific control," explained Roberts.
"Our service provider customers require comprehensive security
solutions that allow for network reliability, management of multiple
firewalls, flexible security policy deployment and scalability to
grow with its infrastructure," said Carol Stone, vice president
of marketing for Check Point Software Technologies. "We are
pleased to see Click! Network leverage our solutions to provide
secure and reliable cable and high-speed Internet services to their
users."
