Check Point Addresses Dynamic Internet Security Challenges with Perimeter, Internal & Web Security Strategy

Announces Plans to Expand Best-in-Class Technology Portfolio with New Internal Security and Web Security Solutions

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., November 19, 2003 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced a perimeter, internal and Web security strategy to deliver the industry's most intelligent solutions for addressing customers' dynamic and evolving Internet security challenges. At its annual industry analyst conference, Check Point executives outlined plans to further advance and expand the company's leading perimeter security solutions, and in the coming months, deliver two new families of internal security and Web security solutions.

Check Point is addressing all of these requirements through a technology strategy that is focused on delivering the industry's most intelligent perimeter security, internal security and Web security. The company is advancing and expanding its market-leading solutions portfolio to uniquely address each of these areas in the following ways:

Internal Security
In 1Q 04, Check Point will deliver a new family of solutions that combine its premier Stateful Inspection and Application Intelligence™ functionality with other new security technologies to enable the industry's deepest and most intelligent protection for internal networks, systems and applications. These solutions will be adaptive, easy to deploy into existing network environments, and uniquely address the complex internal security challenges of new and existing customers with:

  • Multiple layers of attack protection to block the spread of worms/attacks within the network
  • Network segmentation for greater protection of internal resources
  • Intelligent management and auditing capabilities that ease the burden of regulatory compliance

Web Security
Check Point will deliver the industry's only unified, end-to-end solution for addressing Web access and Web protection challenges. A new family of Web security products, available in 1H 04, will enable corporate users to leverage the Web as a flexible access mechanism and information source, without compromising security. Incorporating advancements in Check Point's Secure Socket Layer (SSL) VPN functionality, introduced in July 2002, and new Web security technologies, these solutions will provide:

  • Simple, unified authentication, authorization and Web single sign-on
  • Secure remote access from anywhere
  • Specialized access control for specific applications, rather than the entire network
  • Network and application-level attack protection for web servers

Perimeter Security
In line with its history of innovation and leadership, Check Point will continue to deliver the best and most intelligent perimeter security to customers of all sizes. The company will continue steps taken this year to expand the depth and breadth of its perimeter security solutions, which include:

  • VPN-1® Pro - the industry's most intelligent network and application security, secure remote access and simple, centralized VPN deployment and management solution. Enhanced with Application Intelligence in Q2 03.
  • Check Point Express™ - a new VPN/security solution that delivers worry-free security tailored for mid-sized businesses. Delivered in Q3 03.
  • Safe@Office™ - a new series of VPN/security appliances that provide simple, cost-effective and proven security to small businesses. Delivered in Q4 03.
  • VPN-1 Edge™ - a new series of VPN/security appliances that provide secure connectivity for remote sites and easy deployment of large-scale VPNs. Delivered in Q4 03.
  • VPN-1 VSX™ - a new version of this premier virtualized security solution for data centers and enterprises will integrate Application Intelligence and other security and performance enhancements. To be delivered in Q4 03.
  • VPN-1 SecureClient™ - a new version of this integrated VPN client and personal firewall solution will include a re-designed, more simple and transparent GUI. To be delivered in Q4 03.
