Check Point Express Provides
Onsite and Remote Employees with
Enterprise-Class Performance and Security
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - May 24, 2004
- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP),
the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that
The Equitable Bank, one of the ten largest residential real estate
lenders in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has selected Check Point's mid-market
solutions to provide enterprise-class performance and security for
its onsite and remote employees. With the implementation of Check
Point's comprehensive, integrated mid-market security solution,
Check Point Express, Equitable Bank has the flexibility to
grow and securely add new branch offices.
Given its limited IT budget and staff, Equitable Bank needed state-of-the-art
security that was also affordable and easy to implement and manage.
With 150 employees in 10 different locations, the bank required
a secure VPN solution that would connect its many locations in metropolitan
Milwaukee and link to its new disaster recovery site. In addition,
Equitable was faced with the added challenge of building a flexible
technology infrastructure that could expand quickly to support additional
resources and offices.
To address their specific technology and business needs, Equitable
Bank has deployed the following solutions from Check Point:
- Check Point Express - Provides
Equitable with uncompromising security for its 150 employees at
multiple sites. It delivers the highest level of access control,
integrated network and application-level attack protection, site-to-site
and remote access VPN, high-availability and a single intuitive,
graphical user interface, called SmartDashboard.
- SmartDefense - Protects
Equitable's network from known and unknown network and application-level
attacks using Stateful Inspection and Application Intelligence
technologies.
- SmartView Reporter - An
in-depth network security activity and event information reporting
system that allows Equitable to distill log information into actionable
information. It produces a large number of pre-defined reports,
which eliminates the need to create custom reports, saving administrative
time and money.
- VPN-1 SecureClient - Protecting
the network from unauthorized users, it allows security administrators
to enforce desktop security policies on the network and remotely
enforce desktop policies for mobile users.
- SecurePlatform - Allows
Equitable to quickly and easily deploy Check Point's security
gateways on existing Intel-based PCs and servers.
"Check Point solutions create a solid and secure technology
foundation upon which we can incrementally grow our business, as
it allows us to bring new branches onto the network safely, quickly
and cost-effectively," said Mike Block, assistant vice president
and IT officer of The Equitable Bank. "Like other mid-sized
businesses, we also have a small IT staff, so centralized management
was another key reason we chose Check Point solutions to protect
our business assets."
"Check Point understands the strict security requirements
that the banking industry must meet to provide customer privacy
and data security," said Carol Stone, vice president of marketing
for Check Point Software Technologies. "Check Point provides
mid-market financial service organizations with cost-effective and
easy-to-manage security solutions that will protect their corporate
assets and support their business growth."
