Check Point Software's InterSpect Named "Hot Pick" by Information Security Magazine

Publication Lauds InterSpect for its Intelligence and Ease of Use

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., - April 13, 2004 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that its new internal security gateway solution, InterSpect™, was named a security "Hot Pick" by Information Security magazine. The magazine's editors select "Hot Pick" solutions for their innovative approach to persistent or emerging security problems, significant technical or functional advancements over competitive solutions, and for being realistic and practical solutions that can be implemented in enterprise IT environments. To view the complete article, please see the April issue of Information Security or read it online at: http://infosecuritymag.techtarget.com/ss/0,295796,sid6_iss366_art699,00.html

The Information Security magazine article noted, "InterSpect is one of the finest new security appliances to come on the market and a substantial advancement for Check Point in the internal security space. InterSpect's intelligence, ease of use and automated network-based remediation is the best you'll find on the market."

"Check Point designed InterSpect to combat the increasing number of worms and other threats that attack internal networks. Such internal threats have cost companies significant amounts in terms of network damages and lost revenue," said Carol Stone, vice president of marketing for Check Point Software Technologies. "InterSpect has been very well-received by new and existing customers and our channel partners. The 'Hot Pick' designation from Information Security magazine further validates the market need for an internal security solution and InterSpect's strengths in filling this need."

Internal security is increasingly becoming a priority in today's networking environment driven in large part by the growing number of remote workers. Remote machines that get infected off-site can spread the infection to the entire corporate network once they connect to the LAN upon return to the office. Launched in January 2004, InterSpect addresses internal network security threats by combining Check Point's proven Stateful Inspection and Application Intelligence™ technologies with powerful capabilities designed specifically for internal network security.
