Analyst Firm Places Check Point in the Leader Quadrant in VPN Magic Quadrant
Company Evaluated For Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 27, 2004 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it has been listed in the leader quadrant in Gartner's IPSec VPN Equipment Magic Quadrant report, published September 24, 2004. According to Gartner, the leader quadrant includes organizations that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
Check Point was placed in the leader quadrant based on ability to execute and completeness of vision. Gartner specifically recognizes Check Point for "VPN Security Vision" particularly in authentication and remote client support. Additionally, Gartner acknowledges Check Point for its integration of Zone Labs endpoint security solutions to strengthen the company's remote client support.
"Over 10 years ago, Check Point coined the phrase VPN, later pioneered the VPN market with the VPN-1 product and introduced the concept of integrating VPN functionality with the firewall," said Carol Stone, vice president of marketing for Check Point. "Here we are years later and Check Point continues to set the bar when it comes to the balance between customer objectives of security effectiveness, performance and manageability. A strong track record for innovation and execution has enabled Check Point to build impressive mind share and a large install base."
Nokia and Check Point Continue IPSec
VPN Dominance
Nokia and Check Point leverage their respective engineering resources
to innovate and deliver leading Internet security solutions which
combine the unique strengths of both organizations. The report refers
to Check Point and Nokia's presence in the IPSec VPN market.
"Nokia and Check Point are committed to working together to bring complete, flexible, cost-effective security platforms to the market," said Greg Shortell, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Nokia Enterprise Solutions. "Through our strong six-year alliance we'll continue to deliver industry-leading security solutions to address our customers' needs."
