Check Point Simplifies Security Event Management
Introduces New Eventia Product Line for Real-Time Security Event Correlation and Analysis
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb. 7, 2005 Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today introduced Eventia, a new family of security event management solutions designed to help IT security departments reduce the cost and complexity of security event correlation, management, and reporting. The first product unveiled today in the Eventia product line, Eventia Analyzer, is a comprehensive security event management solution that automatically prioritizes security events for decisive, intelligent action. Eventia Analyzer turns volumes of raw data into actionable information to empower security administrators to make informed decisions on their security deployment.
"The sheer enormity of information collected by security devices makes it extremely difficult for existing security event management solutions to identify meaningful events in a timely fashion, if at all," said Gonen Fink, vice president of solutions and strategy for Check Point Software. "Eventia Analyzer is designed to be easily deployed in hours. The extensive base of built-in knowledge about which security events are important and which can be considered insignificant, greatly increases an enterprises' protection without inundating its security team with lower-priority alerts."
"As a financial institution, our network has to be up-and-running 24x7, so we cannot afford to experience downtime that can result from security breaches," said Eyal Shemesh, CSO of Bank Ha Poalim. "Based on our evaluation, we think that Check Point's Eventia Analyzer will provide us with IT security efficiency. We expect to easily collect and analyze security data so that we will be able identify the highest risk threats and respond to security incidents in real-time. By providing automated event correlation as well as making the process of analyzing security events so simple, Eventia Analyzer might ease the administrative workload of our IT team so they can focus on high priority IT projects."
Eventia Analyzer enables unparalleled security event management
through the following features:
- Intelligent Security Event Management
- Centralized normalization, aggregation and correlation that
automatically prioritizes security events for decisive, intelligent
action
- Easy to Deploy and Simple to Use
- Pre-defined events facilitate deployment in days, not months.
Complex manual processes are automated to minimize impact on mid-sized
enterprises, yet scalable and easily customizable for larger,
complex environments
- Seamless Integration with Check Point
Products - Tightly integrated with SmartCenter, Provider-1
and Check Point VPN-1®, InterSpect, and Connectra
security gateways for easy security event policy definition and
automatic blocking of harmful activity
- Supports Commonly Used Network and
Security Devices - Integrates log data from Check Point
and major third party devices such as firewalls, IDS, routers,
switches and application servers.
Eventia Analyzer provides a solution that is simple to install and maintain for enterprises with limited security resources, yet is scalable and easily customizable for larger, more disparate environments. Alternative solutions are complex, take months to deploy and customize, and have hidden costs such as outsourced professional services which may be required for ongoing maintenance.
"Customers are drowning in data produced by their various security devices and are looking for a way to simply correlate and make sense of the data," said Mark Nicolett, vice president, Gartner Inc. "Broad adoption of Security Information Management functions will occur when the technology can be installed and maintained by enterprises with limited security resources, yet still remain scalable and customizable for larger, more disparate environments."
Strong Partner Enthusiasm Validates
Customer Benefits
Trusted channel partner, Network Technologies of Denmark, director
Tosten Schmidt, explains: "Eventia Analyzer allows our customers
to extend their Check Point investment beyond centralized log management
and into event correlation for their own and other security products.
This will allow security administrators to use their resources more
effectively thus driving down the cost of ownership for security.
This is yet another great product from Check Point".
"Omnetica is fully committed to delivering effective security
management to its customers," Alastair Broom, Product Marketing
Manager of Omnetica, a Check Point partner. "Log consolidation
and event analysis is an essential component of the management platform
and Omnetica welcomes the release of the Eventia family of products
in this space from a leading security vendor such as Check Point.
This product will help customers improve their security management
and therefore improve their overall security architecture."
