REDWOOD CITY, Calif., - Feb. 24, 2005
– Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:
CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced
it has been positioned in the leader quadrant of Gartner's Magic
Quadrant for Network Firewalls, 2H04 . This influential report evaluates
both network and application firewall vendors on their ability to
execute and completeness of vision.
According to Gartner, leaders are performing well today, have a clear
vision of market direction and are actively building competencies
to sustain their leadership position in the market. Other key evaluation
criteria include the ability for firewalls to recognize and block
attacks, central management of many remote devices and a fast-paced
rollout of new application defenses. In addition, a criterion for
the vendor includes the ability to recognize the needs of the enterprise
and build them into the product.
"Check Point is proud to have been positioned in the leader
quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant report," said Carol
Stone, vice president of marketing for Check Point Software. "Check
Point has made significant movement in a positive direction and
our positioning in this report is a result of our commitment to
solving customers' real-world challenges."
