Check Point Software and Foundry Networks Demonstrate Total Access Protection at RSA 2005
Strengthens Policy Enforcement across the Enterprise by Enhancing Cooperation between Endpoint Security and Layer 2-3 SwitchesSAN FRANCISCO, CA. – RSA-- Feb. 16, 2005 – Check Point® Software Technologies (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet and Foundry Networks® (Nasdaq: FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today at RSA are showcasing interoperability between endpoint security solutions and switches in order to deliver optimal network protection. As part of Check Point's Total Access Protection (TAP) initiative, the companies will demonstrate interoperability between Check Point's Integrity and Foundry Networks' Layer 2/3 switches in the Foundry booth (#1423) at RSA 2005. The Check Point TAP initiative provides a security policy enforcement framework for heterogeneous networks to secure all PCs from the risks of hackers, targeted attacks, spyware and malicious code. It also increases cooperation between Check Point's endpoint security and its Perimeter, Internal, and Web security solutions in order to enforce policy at all network access points. To further extend TAP protection to LAN switches, Check Point and Foundry have jointly tested and OPSEC-Certified interoperability based on the 802.1X and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) standards. The joint solution ensures that every PC is secure before it can connect to the LAN, thereby reducing both malicious and accidental attacks. At RSA, Foundry Networks will be demonstrating Check Point's Integrity client and server endpoint security system working jointly with a FastIron® Power-over-Ethernet switch. Check Point's Integrity provides endpoint security solutions that combine Check Point's patented, multi-layered PC firewall technology and host intrusion prevention with efficient, central policy management controls. Integrity delivers fast and flexible deployment of policy-based security enforcement across the enterprise to provide the most secure defense for endpoint PCs. Funk Software's Steel Belted Radius and Odyssey client will be providing the authentication service. "We have extended our IronShield security model to include support for a number of advanced security capabilities," said Bob Schiff, vice president of Product Marketing for Foundry Networks. "Foundry and Check Point have validated the interoperability and performance of both our wireline and wireless switching and access products. Together, we can provide a fully functional, standards based 802.1X authentication and network admission protection solution which vastly simplifies the work required to ensure that corporate security policies are being met." "With our OPSEC partner Foundry, we invite our customers and partners to RSA booth #1423 to experience a real-world demonstration of Total Access Protection," said Paul Weinstein, vice president of business development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Together, we are delivering complete, integrated end-to-end protection to prevent hacker attacks that target enterprise PCs and networks. No other company has the combination of best-of-breed endpoint and network security solutions, fully integrated and available today."
