Control Data Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDAT) today announced that the company has signed a letter of intent with CheckPoint Software Technologies, Inc. to offer the market-leading CheckPoint(TM) FireWall-1(TM) network security solution as part of Control Data's complete security integration services.

CheckPoint's FireWall-1 is part of a suite of security products and services Control Data offers to help organizations maximize the business benefits of sharing information over e-mail, value-added networks and the Internet, while protecting the security of data exchanged over these media.

Open Systems Vital for Security and Flexibility

In addition to CheckPoint's FireWall-1, Control Data also offers public key cryptography solutions based on Nortel's Entrust and a Message Access Control Engine (MACE) security filter as part of Control Data's Mail..Hub message integration solution. While these products provide a complete security solution for customers, Control Data also works with other third-party or proprietary security solutions if customers request them.
