NCR and Check Point Software Announce Global OEM and Marketing Agreement

NCR WorldMark Servers will be bundled with Check Point FireWall-1 Software

 

Dayton, OH —

NCR Corporation, a leader in commercial computing solutions, and Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the market-share leader in network security software, today announced that they have entered into a global OEM and marketing agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Check Point's flagship product Check Point FireWall-1 will ship with every NCR WorldMark enterprise server. WorldMark servers pre-loaded with Check Point FireWall-1 for Microsoft Windows NT will be available in the fourth quarter and for UNIX MP-RAS NCR's version of UNIX in early 1997. NCR is the first systems vendor to offer FireWall-1 pre-loaded on servers running Windows NT.

"This agreement makes available to NCR customers the finest solution for Internet and intranet security," said Mark Hurd, vice president of NCR's Computer Systems Group. "We are offering it in an innovative way, dormant bundling, to enable all our customers to take advantage of the market-leading protection properties of Check Point's FireWall-1 security software."

All NCR WorldMark servers will ship with Check Point FireWall-1 pre-loaded. For those customers interested in purchasing the FireWall-1 software, NCR will provide a license key, as well as product support. A 30-day free trial of the pre-loaded software also will be available to NCR customers.
