"AXENT's Defender products, working in conjunction with Firewall-1, together build a fortress around corporate data.. This combination of solutions will ensure that organizations are able to achieve a comprehensive security solution across their entire enterprise." The OPSEC Alliance provides customers with the assurance that products showing the OPSEC Alliance logo offer secure connectivity, interoperability, and central policy definition while allowing customers to choose the security components that best meet their enterprise requirements. OPSEC allows customers to easily and seamlessly integrate a full spectrum of security applications into the Check Point FireWall-1 enterprise security solution. "Our participation in the OPSEC Alliance will allow us to share our technological expertise with other participants to create integrated security solutions that provide our customers with real value." AXENT's Defender Security Server together with Firewall-1 greatly enhances protection for the enterprise-wide network from unauthorized entry, tampering, and theft of information and services. Defender Security Systems authenticate users through a simple, but reliable, two-factor challenge/response process. The first factor is something the user knows, for example a Personal Identification Number (PIN). The second is something the user owns, such as an AXENT SecureNet Key security token. Each time a user requests network access, the Defender Security Server employs the challenge and challenges the user's SecureNet Key to match it before granting access. Since the passwords are created on the spot, issued and used only once, they are virtually impossible to steal. Defender client products are authentication tools commonly referred to as keys or tokens. These tokens use a Data Encryption Standard (DES)-based challenge/response authentication process. The Defender token can be used in conjunction with a Telnet client or FTP client to access Firewall-1. Defender Security Server (DSS) works directly with Firewall-1. It sets up a communication channel, referred to as an authentication channel, between Firewall-1 and the DSS via TCP/IP. Once the authentication channel has been verified, an initialization sequence from Firewall-1 begins the authentication process. A single DSS can manage multiple firewalls, centralizing all network authentication services.
