Alliance to Ensure Interoperability Between Multiple Security Applications BURLINGTON, Massachusetts - April 21, 1997 - Dr Solomon's Software, the worldwide leader in computer virus detection, identification and disinfection, today announced charter membership in Check Point Software's Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance. Dr Solomon's will develop an anti-virus component based on its award-winning technology for Check Point's enterprise-wide security solution, enabling IS managers to easily configure, integrate and manage anti-virus functions at the server level. "We are pleased Dr Solomon's Software has joined the OPSEC Alliance to deliver comprehensive and advanced anti-virus components for total system maintenance and security," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development for Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "Anti-virus technology is a critical component for developing an enterprise-wide security solution." Managing Anti-Virus Functions at the Server Level With Check PointTM FireWall-1TM, files entering the corporate environment are assembled as they enter the firewall and are automatically sent via Check Point's Content Vectoring Protocol (CVP) to an additional server for virus scanning via Dr Solomon's anti-virus components. Once the files have been completely scanned for viruses, the information is sent back to the firewall which then distributes the files to the user's desktop. Customers benefit from a larger suite of anti-virus protection tools that are automatically run at the server level rather than at individual desktops. "Check Point's OPSEC Alliance is a unique program that will guarantee interoperability at the policy level between products from all participating companies," said Stephen Orenberg, senior vice president and general manager of Dr Solomon's North American Operations. "Our membership in the Alliance demonstrates our continued commitment to provide comprehensive anti-virus protection for an integrated security solution."
