KASPIA Partners With Industry Leaders: Check Point Software, Newbridge Networks and ADC Kentrox
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- April 28, 1997 -- Kaspia Systems, Inc. today announced key strategic partnerships with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., the leader in enterprise security software; Newbridge Networks, a leading supplier of networking products and systems; and ADC Kentrox, the leader in network access solutions. These partnerships further strengthen Kaspia's position as a leader in the network management industry by allowing customers to leverage the comprehensive performance monitoring capabilities inherent in Kaspia's software with leading technology from other vendors.
"We believe that by partnering with best-in-class technology providers, we are bringing our customers the most complete, fully automated network monitoring system available on the market today" said Jeff Erwin, president and CEO of Kaspia Systems. "We will continue to forge relationships with key technology vendors when it will benefit our customers by allowing them to more successfully manage their enterprise network."
Check Point Software
Kaspia has joined forces with Check Point to allow users to monitor the security of their network. Kaspia is supporting the Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance, an open, industry-wide initiative dedicated to providing enterprise-wide security solutions. OPSEC is a single platform that integrates and manages all aspects of enterprise security through an open, extensible management framework, using a combination of published application programming interfaces (APIs), support for industry-standard protocols and a high-level scripting language. Kaspia is a Framework partner, meaning Kaspia has developed technology that extends the OPSEC framework with a complimentary network security component.
"We are delighted that Kaspia is supporting the OPSEC alliance program as a Framework- compliant partner," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development for Check Point Software. "The coupling of our industry leading network security solution and Kaspia's best-of-breed network monitoring technology allows customers to automatically monitor the security of their entire enterprise network."
Newbridge Networks
Newbridge Networks has entered into an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with Kaspia and will be reselling the product through their worldwide sales force. As part of the arrangement, Newbridge Networks has included Kaspia's Automated Network Monitoring System as part of its NetDirector network management application suite. The NetDirector application offers a family of network management tools to take network management beyond the realm of boxes and wires and into the realm of services and applications.
"Newbridge Networks is committed to providing its customers with a comprehensive suite of standards-based network and service management products that significantly simplify the management of complex enterprise networks," said Rick Tinsley, vice president and general manager of VIVID Business Unit of Newbridge Networks.
"Kaspia's superior monitoring technology complements our solution nicely and we look forward to a long and successful relationship."
ADC Kentrox
Kaspia has partnered with ADC Kentrox by integrating Kaspia's network monitoring solution with ADC Kentrox's FrameVision family of open, standards-based Frame Relay circuit management DSU/CSUs. The DataSMART 680 T1 DSU/CSU enhances Kaspia's premier, comprehensive reporting capabilities by supplying timely performance data for accurate, flexible and highly intelligent representation of Frame Relay circuits. This coupling of technologies will allow ADC Kentrox's carrier customers to easily access performance data.
"We believe that it is critical to provide an open, standards-based management system that gives users end-to-end insight into their Frame Relay networks," said Rick Gilbert, president of ADC Kentrox. "By joining forces with Kaspia, we can now provide service providers with accurate, real-time Frame Relay performance data."
Kaspia Automated Network Monitoring System
Kaspia's new discovery system incorporates customer feedback, easing the difficult problem of discovering virtually limitless configurations of networking devices. Beginning with a single seed IP address, Kaspia's Automated Network Monitoring System allows the network manager to control the scope of the discovery. Throughout the process, the user is notified of the progress including discovery issues, new domains, duplicate IP address issues, and unidentifiable equipment. A discovery wizard included with the product helps to resolve issues quickly. The Kaspia monitoring system then automatically and proactively monitors the network by polling thousands of network hosts and internetworking objects containing MIB-based data. Taking advantage of the wealth of statistics already contained in an enterprise network, the system automatically analyzes the data and creates the Java-based Report Center, consisting of nine sets of reports which provide network managers with a roadmap outlining where to focus their efforts.
Price and Availability
Available immediately, the Kaspia Automated Network Monitoring System is sold in a variety of configurations ranging in price from $5,000, based on incremental licenses. All products feature a 90-day warranty. Upgrade and service licenses are also available.
Kaspia products require a Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, 200-MHz Pentium Pro processor, 64-megabyte RAM, 2.5-Gigabyte hard disk, 1,024 x 768 x 256 display, CD-ROM drive and network adapter card. The Kaspia monitoring system complements all major network management systems.
