Netrex to Set Up Shop in Paris for Internet Security Training, March 10-14

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (February 18, 1997) -- Southfield, Mich.-based Netrex is taking its Internet security training capabilities overseas to offer a series of certification courses for instructors of the newest version of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.'s (NASDAQ: CHKPF), Check Point™ FireWall-1™ version 3.0. FireWall-1 is the leading enterprise security software, with 40 percent of the firewall market, according to International Data Corporation. Netrex developed the five-day course series in support of the upcoming release of FireWall-1 3.0, to enable FireWall-1 resellers worldwide to provide quality training and consistent certification programs.
"Netrex is continuing its commitment to keep FireWall-1 administrators ahead of the curve by launching the FireWall-1 3.0 training and courseware in tandem with Check Point Software's release of the software," said Mark Sims, president of Netrex. "Administrators will learn the skills and gain a full understanding of the software features to keep company information private and secure."
Participants who complete the course will become Certified Check Point Security Engineers or Instructors (CCSEs or CCSIs) for FireWall-1 3.0, depending upon the curriculum chosen for enrollment. According to Check Point Software's current Authorized Training Center (ATC) guidelines, having one or more CCSIs on staff, plus the dedicated facilities for an eight-, 12- or 16-station training lab, qualifies a company to become a Check Point Software ATC for CCSE training.

CCSE training is sought by corporate network and system administrators who want to install and maintain FireWall-1 to secure their company's network against hacking and unauthorized access. Complete information on these courses, including curriculum details and hotel information, is available on the World Wide Web at http://fw1.netrex.com/locations/.

Following the official software release, Netrex will offer FireWall-1 3.0 CCSE and CCSI certification courses from its Southfield, Mich., and Denver training centers on a bi-weekly basis.
