New Framework for Enterprise-Wide Security to Enhance Corporate PC Conferencing

COLUMBIA, MD., -- April 21, 1997 - OutReachTM Technologies, a leading provider of real-time collaborative conferencing has announced that it will support the Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance that Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. announced today. The leading provider of enterprise security software, Check Point Software formed the OSPEC Alliance as an open, industry-wide initiative to foster cooperation in providing enterprise security solutions.

OutReach Technologies, TM which markets the CONFEReaseTM line of real-time voice and PC conferencing software for managed online conferences, joined vendors of encryption, anti-virus support, security content screening and other companies concerned with online security issues, in committing to support a common standard for interoperability and compatibility of security products.

"Our customers are serious business users who need to know they can collaborate online, without compromising the privacy and reliability they enjoy with closed corporate networks. Check Point has already made major contributions to ensuring online security, and we applaud their leadership in establishing this as an industry issue," says Greg Pfister, director of product technology for OutReach Technologies.

OPSEC was designed to guarantee interoperability between leading edge security products. In OPSEC Alliance terminology, OutReach Technologies will be a Passport Partner – an application development vendor that is ensuring secure computing over the Internet through compatibility with the OPSEC platform. Other OPSEC partner categories include Infrastructure partners, which embed or bundle Check Point FireWall-1 with their products and Framework partners which are developing or have developed products that specially meet the stringent compatibility requirements for an OPSEC-enabled security technology.

"We are delighted that OutReach Technologies has joined us in establishing an industry enterprise security standard. The OPSEC platform will enable OutReach Technologies' CONFERease conferencing products to be integrated into customers' enterprise environments, eliminating barriers that hinder communication and data transfer at many companies," says Asheem Chandna, director of business development for Check Point Software Technologies.
