ATLANTA, GA - TELEMATE Software announced today its participation in the OPSEC Alliance, an open, industry-wide initiative dedicated to providing enterprise-wide security solutions. TELEMATE joins more than 75 organizations whose products are supporting the initiative being led by Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. OPSEC allows customers to integrate a full spectrum of security applications into the Check Point FireWall-1 enterprise security solution to manage functions such as access control, address translation, authentication, auditing, accounting, encryption and content security. The OPSEC Alliance provides customers with the assurance that products with the OPSEC Alliance logo offer secure connectivity, interoperability, and central policy definition while allowing them to choose the security components that best meet their enterprise requirements. TELEMATE's support for the Alliance is based on its new offering for the Internet Accounting market, TELEMATE.NetTM. TELEMATE.Net makes it easy for network and other information technology managers to translate large amounts of abstract Internet data into meaningful business reports. These reports help enhance productivity, improve operational efficiency, control and allocate costs and prevent misuse among Internet users. "As network managers wake up to the idea that the Internet is not free, they are quickly shifting their focus from network performance issues to strategic concerns," said William J. Lassiter, senior vice president of Atlanta-based TELEMATE. "The biggest question is, How do I get the most from my Internet investment?" TELEMATE.Net provides information regarding site and employee-level use of the Internet that helps managers get a better handle on their real Internet costs. "This is a way to encourage professional accountability in the use of the Internet that can help organizations monitor, control and manage their network and human resources," said Lassiter. Version 1.01 of TELEMATE.Net reads Internet data directly from firewall log files, rather than taking data from devices added to the network that could limit or interfere with the transfer of information. Automated processing of the firewall logs enables unattended operation, saving employee time and network resources. The product, which is supported by a number of firewall vendors, including Check Point Software Technologies, is being distributed through a network of system integrators and VARs. Established in 1985, TELEMATE Software is the nation's leading supplier of communications accounting software with more than 11,000 installations worldwide. ### Check Point, the Check Point logo, FireWall-1, FireWall-1 SecuRemote, and FireWall-First! are trademarks of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.
