Offers Industry-First Managed Security Service To Support Multiple Leading Firewall Technologies CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1998GTE Internetworking, a leading provider of Internet services, today announced that it has partnered with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ:CHKPF) to offer the Check PointTM FireWall-1 enterprise security solution to customers of GTE's Site Patrol managed security service. The partnership makes GTE Internetworking the only Internet service provider (ISP) to offer multi-firewall support, giving business customers the ability to choose between leading security solutions from Check Point Software and Trusted Information Systems, Inc. (TIS). "Check Point FireWall-1 provides GTE's Site Patrol customers with the high level of security services needed in today's enterprise, while offering an extremely scaleable and modular platform that will grow to meet tomorrow's security challenges," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of Business Development at Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. Site Patrol will support FireWall-1, the leading enterprise security solution based upon the patented stateful inspection technology invented by Check Point, as well as Gauntlet, the leading application proxy firewall from TIS.
