LeeMah DataCom's TraqNet 8000 RADIUS Solution Earns OPSEC Certification under Check Point Software's OPSEC Alliance Program

Addresses interoperability of TraqNet token authentication with Check Point FireWall-1

FREMONT, CA, -  January 6, 1998 - LeeMah DataCom announced today that its new TraqNet 8000 SafeAccess Server, an advanced remote access security solution featuring two-factor token authentication, has achieved OPSEC Certified solution status and become a member of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.'s OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity) Alliance. The certification signifies that LeeMah's product has undergone rigorous testing for interoperability with the Check Point FireWall-1 enterprise security solution under the open, extensible management framework of Check Point Software's OPSEC platform, the de facto industry standard for enterprise security solutions.

"The admission of our TraqNet 8000 into the elite community of OPSEC-certified vendors validates our status as a best-of-breed security product and ensures that FireWall-1 users can deploy our token authentication solution with full confidence in the products' interoperability," said John Tuomy, President of LeeMah DataCom. "The OPSEC program is a powerful resource for end users trying to build impenetrable safety barriers around their networks, and our participation will help provide maximum security for corporate LANs using the Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol to manage access by remote users."

A remote user requiring access to a network protected by FireWall-1 and TraqNet 8000 enters his or her user name and a one-time-only password generated by LeeMah DataCom's InfoCard, a credit card-style handheld token with a replaceable battery. FireWall-1 then sends the user ID and password on to the TraqNet 8000 server for authentication, adding an extra layer of security against network interlopers.

"TraqNet 8000 gives FireWall-1 users access to advanced RADIUS server technology, incorporates a full management reporting system, and imports user ID information contained in existing enterprise databases to minimize administrative workload," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of business development for Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. "It is a valuable addition to our OPSEC program."

About TraqNet 8000

Operating on Windows NT 4.0 Servers or workstations, TraqNet 8000 is a full-featured RADIUS server that supports authentication, authorization and accounting. Tokens are used to dynamically generate a one-time-only password response using LeeMah DataCom's SafeAccess™ technology, which is based on industry-standard Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithms. Each response is generated as a singular event, not as a time-related function, to prevent potential hackers from jumping through a "time window." The TraqNet 8000 server then screens the user ID and the password to authenticate the request.

For ease of administration, the product allows centralized user and configuration management and sharing of user ID information from enterprise databases. User accounts and profiles are set up and maintained in the TraqNet 8000 SQL database, enabling security administrators to add, change and delete user profiles quickly and conveniently. User ID data already entered in Windows NT Domain or Workgroups is used, eliminating the need to create a dedicated database and significantly lowering administrative overhead.

Reporter software included with TraqNet 8000 generates reports for detailed analysis of remote access usage and enables real-time monitoring of network activity. The software comes with preformatted report forms covering topics ranging from monthly, hourly and daily rate usage to peak time usage. Reports are easily customized or imported into other software programs for greater flexibility.

TraqNet 8000 sells for $500, including Reporter software. Client licenses start at $750 for up to 10 users. InfoCard tokens begin at $25 in bundled quantities. LeeMah DataCom also offers software tokens and a family of 56kbps modems with embedded tokens available as PCMCIA cards, external standalone units or internal half-cards, representing the market's most complete selection of personal authentication tokens.

TraqNet 8000 is available directly through LeeMah DataCom at 800/331-2734 or 510/608-0600. LeeMah DataCom can be reached on the Web at www.leemah.com.
