Sitara Networks Announces Compatibility with Leading Security and Network Performance Vendors

Cisco, Network Associates, Check Point Software, F5 Labs, and HydraWEB named as initial members of Sitara Networks Compatibility Program

Waltham, Mass. - March 22, 1999 - Sitara Networks, Inc., the leading developer of end-to-end Internet performance solutions that optimize the performance of Internet, intranet, and extranet applications, today announced the formation of the Sitara Networks Compatibility Program. The program was created to ensure compatibility between Sitara's Internet performance solutions and other leading security and networking vendors' products through quality assurance testing and consulting. The initial focus of the program is to create added value for its members' common customers in the financial services industry. The Sitara Networks Compatibility Program will also provide enterprise customers with assurance that Sitara's technology works seamlessly with solutions they already have in place. Program members named today include Cisco Systems, Network Associates, Inc., Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., F5 Labs, and HydraWEB Technologies.

Financial services companies continue to deploy a variety of technologies to optimize the performance, security and reliability of their Web sites -- products such as load balancers, and firewalls. By ensuring compatibility with other leading vendors in the financial services market, Sitara will ease the deployment of its products within these sophisticated Web site and network environments.

Sitara SpeedServer™ and SpeedSeeker™ are dual components of a unique client/server solution that delivers easy access, fast page downloads and reliable transactions to high-value customers of leading online brokerages, commercial banks and other financial institutions.

Initial program members include:

  • Cisco - Cisco has incorporated support for SpeedServer and SpeedSeeker into its upcoming PIX 4.4 firewall. Sitara products will also support Cisco's LocalDirector load balancer.
  • Network Associates - Sitara and Network Associates have integrated support for Sitara's products into the Gauntlet firewall for several existing joint financial customers.
  • Check Point Software - Sitara products support Check Point™ FireWall-1 enterprise security suite.
  • F5 Labs - Sitara products are compatible with F5 Labs' BIG/ip product line of high availability load balancing and server array controller technologies.
  • HydraWEB - HydraWEB's application-aware load balancing and Layer 7 parallel load balancing offerings have integrated Sitara's product.
