SecureWorks
Aligns With the Leader in Securing the
Internet to Extend Security Solutions to Remote and Smaller
Networks
ATLANTA,
March 27 - SecureWorks,
a provider of continuous Internet security monitoring and
response services for small-to-mid-sized businesses and home
users, today announced partnering with Check Point Software
Technologies (Nasdaq: CHKP - news) by joining their OPSEC
Certified Appliance Partner Program. The fusion of SecureWorks
technology and service along with the integration of Check
Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture creates
the first Internet monitoring and response security service
that provides simultaneous infrastructure and perimeter protection
for networks 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at the small
to mid-sized business level.
Eighty percent of all Internet connections result from businesses
with fewer than 100 users per location: a market segment that
cannot afford the typical Internet management solution, which
may require technical expertise and expensive technology.
The combined appliance/service solution eliminates the need
for on-site technical support at pilot offices and for after
hours monitoring. SecureWorks' service, combined with Check
Point's security software, offers simple and easy deployment
of corporate security policies across multiple locations.
SecureWorks provides continuous monitoring and real-time response
to intrusions, and subscribers' systems are updated with the
latest threat responses such as new attack signatures and
firewall rules. In addition, subscribers are provided attack
prevention tools, risk analysis tools, advisory updates and
current security trends. Check Point's market-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1
security software provides access control, authentication,
and encryption to guarantee the security of network connections,
the authenticity of local and remote users, and the privacy
and integrity of data communications. Together these systems
provide high-end, precise Internet protection at an affordable
price and supply security to the small business market, who
account for the majority of Internet connections.
``The recent E-business attacks reflect the need for security
across the board in large and small companies, as well as
on personal networks because any network may be used to aid
in a hacker's attempts,'' says Joan Wilbanks, President and
CEO of SecureWorks. ``Together with Check Point, our solution
enables centralized security that is more attainable.''
``We are excited about SecureWorks joining the OPSEC Certified
Appliance Partner Program,'' said Asheem Chandna, VP of Business
Development and Product Management, Check Point Software Technologies.
``The integration of Check Point's market leading SVN architecture
with SecureWorks security appliance and service enables small
and medium businesses to be confident that their connections
are secure.''
About SecureWorks

security services. The service also includes a stateful packet-inspection
firewall, an intrusion detection mechanism, and a patent-pending
update and response process. When an intruder is detected,
SecureWorks responds and prevents access to the customer's
network. The customer is notified immediately of any unauthorized
attempt, the event is logged, and the monitoring continues
without any slowdown to the system. SecureWorks is currently
launching field tests with small and mid-sized businesses.
In 2001, SecureWorks will offer services to consumers with
DSL and broadband connections.
