Industry's First Blade-based Appliances for Multiple Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 Deployments Carson City, NV - Nov. 14, 2001 - Cubix Corporation will introduce the industry's first chassis/blade based "Secured by Check Point" appliance in November, 2001. The two high density systems, Multiple Security Appliance (MSA) 300 & 800, host up to three and eight Security Series appliance blades respectively, featuring the market-leading Check Point (NASDAQ: CHKP) VPN-1/FireWall-1 software. The Cubix system is unique in that it integrates Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 on appliance blades running a security hardened version of the Linux operating system. MSA systems, with their appliance blade architecture, are ideal for enterprises and service providers looking to rapidly deploy multiple high-speed, high-density Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 appliances in space constrained data centers, build High Availability (HA) configurations, or create high throughput, load balanced clusters of VPN/Firewalls. Multiple VPN-1/FireWall-1 customer domains can be managed using Check Point's Provider-1T. With the assistance of Check Point Authorized Resellers, MSA systems are also ideal for deploying "Security Farms" or a suite of multiple security applications, such as virus scanning, intrusion detection, url screening or authentication. Both fault-tolerant MSA hardware platforms integrate redundant subsystems to ensure security services are always available. Cubix's Security Series appliance blades have been tested and certified by Check Point as "Secured by Check Point" appliances, ensuring functionality, interoperability, and ease of installation. The combined hardware/software solution provides a highly scalable product for deploying powerful and robust security solutions to customers. "As a price/performance leader for "Secured by Check Point" appliances, Cubix offers enterprises and service providers a cost effective solution for deploying rock solid security solutions", states Jim Zakzeski, Cubix's Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
