EmergeCore Joins Check Point's OPSEC Alliance to Deliver A "Secured by Check Point" Appliance

Higher level Performance Delivered by Leveraging SecureXL and EC Reactor

SALT LAKE CITY, December 6, 2001 -- EmergeCore Networks LLC, an innovative developer of the Open Internet Protocol Services Platform (OIPSP) today announced their partnership with Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. EmergeCore will build a "Secured by Check Point" VPN/security appliance based on Check Point's market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® software and the EmergeCore hardware platform.

EmergeCore will develop a high-performance "Secured by Check Point" appliance platform for IP Networks that leverages Check Point's SecureXL performance framework and EmergeCore's EC ReactorT platform.
