Entercept 2.0 Seamlessly Integrates with Industry's Most Recognized Security Framework SAN JOSE, Calif., December 3, 2001- Entercept Security Technologies today announced that it has received OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) certification for Entercept 2.0 from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Entercept integrates with VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation (NG) environments through the Event Logging (ELA) API using the OPSEC interface to provide centralized logging and dynamic policy configuration. OPSEC certification ensures and verifies that Entercept's unique intrusion prevention solution has been rigorously tested and works seamlessly with Check Point's industry-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1. "As both a Check Point and Entercept partner, we are confident that the combined solution will fulfill a growing customer demand for a preventative, server security solution, coupled with established perimeter protection," said Rick Romkey, President of US Operations for Integralis. "OPSEC Certification of Entercept's host-based intrusion prevention solution gives us the assurance that the solution has been tightly integrated and is interoperable with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1." Entercept's host-based protection will provide Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG customers with prevention of both known and unknown attacks to critical servers (like the recent Nimda and Code Red incidents) and help IT professionals get out of "react" mode by building an effective, proactive defense against malicious attacks. Entercept's multi-layered protection blends behavioral shielding and signature technology to provide security for enterprise servers and their OS, applications and resource files. Entercept provides intrusion prevention security solutions designed to proactively protect critical servers, applications, and data in real-time from malicious activity and damaging intrusions. "Entercept's intrusion prevention software is a natural complement to Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG", said May Mitchell, Director of Partner Marketing for Entercept Security Technologies. "Check Point customers and resellers can be assured that Entercept will provide optimum layers of protection and prevent malicious attacks before they can cause damage." This integrated solution will allow administrators to protect servers by centrally monitoring suspicious activity and taking immediate actions to prevent unauthorized activities. Attacks on the server itself are prevented in real time by Entercept, before damage can occur. Events and alarms generated from the Entercept console will be transparently sent to the Check Point NG Security Dashboard. If an event is analyzed as malicious, this combined solution can automatically configure the VPN-1/FireWall-1 security policy to prevent the attack. Customers will benefit from this streamlined, easy-to-deploy solution for maximum server protection against internal and external attacks. "We are pleased to see Entercept Security Technologies achieve OPSEC certification for its intrusion prevention product," said Upesh Patel, manager, OPSEC Alliance. "The Entercept product provides Check Point customers with a host based Intrusion Prevention solution that will send alerts to the VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG Management Console."
