Lumeta Joins Check Point's OPSEC Alliance

Partnership to Enable Best-in-Breed Security Analysis Tools

SOMERSET, NJ (September 5, 2001) -- Lumeta Corporation, a network and security management solutions company that provides IP network assessments to leading Fortune 500 companies, today announced that it has joined Check Point Software Technologies' (NASDAQ:CHKP) OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) Alliance.

By leveraging the OPSEC Framework, Lumeta has access to OPSEC APIs which enable seamless integration of Lumeta applications with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1â/FireWall-1â Internet security solutions - an integral part of its Secure Virtual Network architecture. Check Point's SVN architecture provides the infrastructure that enables secure and reliable Internet communications between networks, systems, applications, and users across the Internet, Intranets and extranets.

"We are pleased to be part of this alliance because of the high standards Check Point maintains in its award-winning alliance program," said Tom B. Dent, chief executive officer of Lumeta Corp. "Our alliance with Check Point demonstrates our commitment to provide organizations with best-of-breed security analysis tools."

Check Point Software founded The OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) Alliance in 1997 to enable the industry's first truly integrated security framework. The Lumeta Firewall Analyzer(SM) will go through a rigorous certification process to ensure interoperability and interoperation with Check Point security solutions. Lumeta Firewall Analyzer (LFA) examines a firewall's rule set to explicitly depict what the firewall allows through, which often is very different from what was intended.
