ForeScout Technologies Achieves OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software

ForeScout's ActiveScout Perimeter Defense System Passes Stringent Testing, Integrates with Check Point's Market-Leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 Product to Block Network Attacks

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- February 19, 2002 -- ForeScout Technologies, Inc., today announced that its newly released ActiveScoutT perimeter security product has achieved OPSECT (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. OPSEC certification assures customers that ForeScout's ActiveScout product seamlessly integrates with Check Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture. ForeScout's ActiveScout product can dynamically configure Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 to block attacks and improve security protection at the network perimeter. The OPSEC Alliance program is the industry's most recognized security framework that provides users with integrated, best-of-breed Internet security solutions.

"We are pleased to see ForeScout's ActiveScout achieve OPSEC certification," said Upesh Patel, manager of the OPSEC Alliance for Check Point Software Technologies. "If malicious attacks can be stopped at the firewall before reaching the network, unauthorized access to corporate resources can be prevented. ForeScout's ActiveScout product and Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 product provide security protection at the network perimeter through accurate, early stage detection of network reconnaissance probes."

"Security managers are overwhelmed with threats to their enterprise. OPSEC Certification means that customers can immediately put the ActiveScout product to work with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 solution to dynamically block real attacks," said Nancy Blair, vice president of marketing at ForeScout Technologies, Inc. "OPSEC Certification is an important milestone for our customers. Certification assures customers that the ActiveScout and Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 products are integrated and ActiveScout information can be used to configure Check Point's FireWall-1 product to preemptively stop network attacks."

ForeScout has created a revolutionary new perimeter security product that sits in front of the firewall and protects enterprise networks from network attacks and unauthorized network access. The newly released ActiveScout product automatically and accurately identifies, tracks and stops attackers at the network perimeter and provides a new layer of defense against costly attacks.
