(NASDAQ: INTZ), a leading provider of enterprise security solutions for the information-driven economy, today announced the release of the new gigabit-firewall PDS 7315 security appliance. The Intrusion PDS 7315 is the first purpose-built security appliance to feature Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP) market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation (NG) Feature Pack 1 (FP1) with the SecureXL Performance Pack to provide enterprise protection as the first line of defense at the high-throughput perimeter. The Intrusion PDS 7315 provides 2.04 Gb/s of firewall throughput and is only 2U high. The PDS 7315 purpose-built appliance provides all the features required for a high-throughput perimeter system with redundant power supplies, 73GB of storage that is expandable to nearly a half-terabyte and 1GB of RAM that is expandable to 4GB. The PDS 7315 comes with two 10/100/1000 Mb/s copper interfaces or two gigabit fiber-optic interfaces in addition to the two on-board 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet Interfaces. The appliance may be additionally expanded with four full-size PCI slots.
