netVmg Achieves OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software

Intelligent Route Control Company Integrates with Industry's Most Recognized Security Framework for Protection

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- April 25, 2002 - netVmg, the emerging leader in the intelligent route control category, today announced at the Check Point Experience it has achieved OPSEC® (Open Platform for Security) certification for its flagship product the Flow Control Platform (FCP), from Check Point™ Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. The combination of Check Point's leading FireWall- 1®/ VPN-1® and netVmg's end-to-end routing optimization creates a compelling reason for businesses to migrate their applications away from legacy networking technologies and onto Internet-based VPNs.

"As the leader in route control, we are pleased to be a member of the industry's premier open, multi-vendor security framework," stated Ed English, vice president of corporate development at netVmg. "The combination of Check Point's industry leading security and VPN management functionality with netVmg's proven performance and cost optimized routing provides the complete answer for enterprise's seeking to deploy or grow their VPN solutions. Now companies who trust Check Point to secure their mission critical traffic can take advantage of netVmg's route control technologies."

netVmg's FCP gives companies very fine grained control over Internet routing so they can achieve business objectives such as cost reduction and application performance improvement. OPSEC certification gives customers a new architectural deployment option and, more importantly, provides the foundation for customers seeking to use intelligent route control in the context of Internet based VPNs. Through OPSEC certification, the netVmg FCP pulls IP source and destination information from the VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management Server. This information is used, in a multi-homed ISP environment, to determine the best Internet route over which to send the VPN-1 traffic.

"We are pleased that netVmg has achieved OPSEC certification for their FCP intelligent route control product," said Upesh Patel, OPSEC Alliance manager. "Certification assures interoperability between netVmg's FCP and Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1. Now customers have a solution that allows them to instantaneously choose the most efficient Internet route to send their VPN traffic over thus enhancing the overall performance of their VPN."

Flow Control Platform (FCP) will be shown at the Check Point Experience, the annual customer and partner conference currently being held in Anaheim, California May 23-26.
