PestPatrol Achieves Check Point OPSEC™ certification

Leading Anti-Hacker Toolkit Integrates with Industry's Most Recognized Security Framework

San Jose, CA - February 18, 2002 - PestPatrol, Inc., the leading provider of tools to protect against non-viral malicious code, is pleased to announce that the company's flagship product, PestPatrol, has achieved OPSECTM (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP). The OPSEC Alliance is the industry's most recognized security framework aimed at providing users with an integrated, best-of-breed Internet security solution.

PestPatrol leverages Check Point's SCV (Secure Configuration Verification) interface with Check Point Next Generation (NG), to ensure the user's desktop is free of malicious code prior to setting up the VPN connection. This integration will assure that a corporate network does not get infected with malicious code from remote users.

PestPatrol is a high-performance solution for protecting corporate networks against unauthorized usage by hacker tools, trojan horses, denial-of-service attack agents and spyware. When used in combination with market-leading Check Point NG, PestPatrol prevents systems containing hidden non-viral malicious code from connecting to the VPN gateway.. Regular scans to keep desktop systems clean can also be configured, ensuring that no malicious code infiltrates the corporate network once a connection is made.

"We are delighted to see PestPatrol achieve OPSEC certification," said Upesh Patel, manager of the OPSEC Alliance for Check Point Software Technologies. "Corporations now have the ability to ensure that remote users of Check Point SecureClient have a securely configured desktop free of non-viral malicious code prior to their connecting to the corporate VPN."

Bob Bales, CEO of PestPatrol, Inc., said, "We are pleased to have achieved this milestone concurrently with the release of our first corporate version of PestPatrol. Check Point OPSEC certification confirms our commitment to comprehensive security, and will enable our customers to easily secure their networks against deliberate or inadvertent unauthorized access by remote users."
