PoliVec Joins Check Point's OPSEC Alliance

PoliVec Enforcer For Security Policy Automation Working Toward Integration With Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - September 30, 2002 - PoliVec, Inc., the trusted leader in security policy automation, today announced it has joined Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. Open Platform for Security Alliance (OPSEC™). OPSEC is the industry's leading framework, providing an open choice of best-of-breed security products and platforms, tightly integrated and assured through certification. PoliVec will work toward integrating PoliVec Enforcer with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® solution to ensure a secure network that is in compliance with a customer's written security policy.

"Automating fundamental security processes is necessary in order to cut through the clutter of the security market, where numerous vendors are offering products and solutions that overlap," stated Roberto Medrano, CEO of PoliVec. "Supporting open industry groups that promote interoperability is vital to harnessing the potential of automation. PoliVec will continue to expand the interoperability of its solutions for automation with other technology providers, and Check Point's OPSEC is a solid example. In the future, policy automation will extend to all parts of a company's security architecture."

PoliVec Enforcer allows companies to translate human written security policy into machine policy, or policy that can be enforced consistently across a network. The product uses binary vector technology to monitor all systems on a network for configurations that are not in compliance with a company's written security policy. PoliVec Enforcer will integrate with Check Point's industry-leading OPSEC framework. The integration will enhance the functionality of PoliVec Enforcer by using Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 to limit access to a system with serious security vulnerabilities as determined by PoliVec Enforcer.

"We are pleased to welcome PoliVec as a new member of the OPSEC Alliance," said Upesh Patel, manager of the OPSEC Alliance for Check Point Software Technologies. "Integration of PoliVec's Enforcer with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1, will provide our customers with a best-of-breed security solution compliant with their corporate security policy."
